Bellinger has over 20 years experience in the healthcare industry and 14 years experience in anesthesia and pain management billing, coding, reimbursement, education, and management. Through Bellinger's experience in auditing and consulting for anesthesia and pain practices across the country, he has gained many valuable insights into anesthesia and pain-specific coding and compliance pitfalls. These can include common documentation problems that affect reimbursement, CRNA coding issues and how they vary between states, managed care contract issues that affect reimbursement, unique anesthesia and pain coding techniques that increase reimbursement, cardiac anesthesia coding compliance, critical care coding for maximum compliance and reimbursement. Bellinger is also very experienced in anesthesia billing rules and exceptions for Medicare, Medicaid and private payers, teaching facility documentation rules and coding techniques for maximum compliance and reimbursement, as well as policy variability between different Medicare carriers and private payers.
Bellinger graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is a nationally Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) through the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), a nationally Certified Professional Coder (CPC) through the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), a nationally Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) through the Healthcare Fraud & Abuse Compliance Institute, an AAPC Approved Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) Coding Instructor and a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and the Anesthesia Administrator's Assembly (AAA).
