Medac Appoints Hal Nelson to Senior Management Team
AUGUSTA, Ga. (Friday January 19, 2006)— Medac is pleased to announce that Hal Nelson, has joined the Medac team in the position of Co-Vice President for Compliance. Hal officially became a member of the Medac team on January 1, 2007 and has quickly been gathering knowledge of Medac, our systems and our clients. Hal is a great addition to the existing experience and knowledge base of the Medac senior management team and brings with him extensive knowledge in anesthesia and pain management coding, billing and compliance.
As a nationally known expert in the field of anesthesia and pain management, he has been published in a variety of industry publications and is a frequent speaker at conferences. Hal’s extensive expertise will allow Medac to better service clients for physician and staff education in the areas of documentation, coding, billing and compliance.
His credentials include being a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and he is also affiliated with the MGMA - AAA. In addition, he brings 10 years of experience in the following areas:
- Medicare billing regulations
- anesthesia and pain coding
- payer audit defense
- charge ticket/Superbill review
- compliance plan development
Prior to joining Medac, Hal served as Director of Compliance (Anesthesia Services) at Per Se Technologies where he worked for over 8 years. In addition, he also served as Compliance Director at Comp One for almost 2 years.
